What's New?

The government is currently running a public consultation on the future of tobacco control & how we can help protect and prevent future generations from poor health caused by tobacco.

D-MYST will be out and about with Juice FM at major events across the summer asking you what you think as we'll be presenting your views to the government as part of the wider public consultation.

In 2008, Liverpool’s Capital of Culture year D-MYST held an international event, which challenged and exposed the issue of tobacco imagery in movies aimed at young people as well as showcasing the efforts, power and importance of youth advocacy in tobacco control.

Toxic Movies

The last time you watched a film did you notice if there was smoking in it? There's a good chance there was, you perhaps just didn't notice.

Research shows that smoking in films is one of the main reasons why young people start to smoke

D-MYST has launched the ‘Toxic Movies' campaign which aims to raise awareness about smoking in movies. D-MYST is asking film companies to remove smoking from all future youth rated films. It won’t take anything away from the film but would prevent many taking up the habit.
